BOMB VOYAGE

April 2026

The Failed to Render Comedy Club has been running strong for many years now with live standup comedians beaming in from all over the country to do their sets, some even from their car in a parking lot! However like all good things that run for a long time, a change was needed to keep it from getting stale.

Enter their newest hit format: “Bomb Voyage!” A faster pace and way more gimmicks! Think “Kill Tony” but in VR and with some interesting twists. Basically comedians of all skill levels come in and sign up on the spot the night of the show. A name is drawn randomly and that person must book it up to the stage where they have 2 minutes to deliver their jokes. Afterwards they are faced with a panel of 3 veteran comedians and must perform an interview.

A big twist, however, is that the stage is a giant trap door and if the comedian is bombing or being offensive, one of the veterans can press the DROP button and down they go, complete with an explosion at the bottom. Hence the name Bomb Voyage!

✅ Live shows every Wednesday @ 10p ET / 7p PT in VRChat.

The Neon Aqua Theater

August 2025

After the original MetaCenter Global Week Orlando Lounge proved the concept to be technically viable, Chris Crescitelli of MetaCities came back to us a year or so later with a plan to upgrade the original space with some fun new amenities and turn it into a richly immersive regular event space for their popular Metamusic Festival series.

The new additions included some custom shader upgrades, floating islands with waterfalls, a fully functional and beautiful lazy river you can actually ride along in, and a mystical crystal cave that the lazy river ultimately winds around through. While it’s a bit heavy for VR it is still a very fun space to hang out in on PC or mobile. And it’s always fun to be able to connect with new and old friends in a social VR setting.

⭐ The theater has already hosted multiple live DJ parties with people dancing in their avatars!

✅ Accessible on VIVERSE using Desktop and Mobile.

Ship Happens VR

February 2025

An original WebXR escape room style game built in the open source PlayCanvas engine for the VIVERSE platform by Cause + Christi and ZanderCode. You, the ship’s Earth-born engineer, awaken from cryo sleep alone, adrift, and faced with finding your tools to repair the ship and unlock the bridge. Your orders are to send a distress beacon but you may have other plans…

🏆 Winner for Entertainment Experience of the Year 2025 at the Polys Immersive Awards and now prominently featured on the Meta Quest browser’s new tab page under Immersive Experiences!

✅ Playable for free on VR, Desktop, and Mobile.

Castle of KYSS

September 2025

We helped Rowohlt Verlag’s romance imprint KYSS bring the world of Romance Fiction to life in virtual reality by building their own immersive space: the Castle of KYSS. Hosted in the popular metaverse platform VRChat, the Castle of KYSS is a multi-room social experience that invites fans to explore their favorite genres, books, and authors while connecting with each other.

⭐ The castle has already hosted its first live author event featuring Marie Niehoff, and will continue to hold regular gatherings that bring the KYSS community together in unforgettable, story-filled ways.

✅ Accessible on VRChat using VR and Desktop.

Vivaldi 3.0

September 2024

Join world-renowned violinist Ara Malikian and the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía on a visually stunning journey through the immersive universe of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” concerto. Experience the life and magic through fresh eyes and ears as you step through the time portals to transform the environment, enjoy each season’s musical movement, and play your own instrument to unlock the spirit of the season and relight its beacon. Once all beacons are lit, the home planets of each season will once again be connected through the magic of Vivaldi’s harmonic frequencies!

🏆 The app won Education Experience of the Year, Entertainment Experience of the Year, and Experience of the Year at the 2024 Polys Immersive Awards and was featured in Forbes.

⭐ The app is also currently being used in schools in Spain and touring around Europe in an effort to help get children interested in the classical arts.

MetaCenter Global Week Orlando Lounge

October 2023

We’d worked with Chris Crescitelli of Dreamland XR in the past on the UNESCO #ActNow projects when we recreated the Al Wasl Dome and the Uluru National Park. This time he came to us with his brand MetaCities along with a team at HTC to create an official Orlando-themed virtual lounge experience for the 2023 MetaCenter Global Week conference, featuring a live set by DJ Celeste. It was a bit of rush job with a very quick turnaround of only THREE WEEKS! but we pulled it off and honestly what we ended up creating became one of our favorite designs to date.

⭐ Fun Fact: this was one of the very first worlds built on the then budding HTC VIVERSE platform. Our world’s popularity over the years prompted VIVERSE to reach out to us with a creative contract offer to build our now award winning game Ship Happens.

⬆️ This world went on to later become the new MetaCities Neon Aqua Theater with a full on working lazy river, magic cave and waterfalls added on. See the above for that entry, the button below takes you to the original archived version. This way you can see the updates!

The XR Talent Expo

September 2023

Andy Fidel of Spatial Networks orchestrated a multi-day multi-speaker virtual online networking conference and it was a veritable who’s who of the industry. She came to us to build her a unique setting for this event, something inspired by the early days of 3D design. For some reason a Pink Floyd album cover came to mind and thus the strange geometric pinkish pyramidish water world of the XR Talent Expo was born! We had an absolute blast making this world, it was a full on imagination fest and it turned out better than we could have imagined!

Madrid in Game

April 2023

Although they have never been officially released, we crafted three beautiful custom worlds for Madrid in Game’s virtual campus project. It is unclear when or even if these worlds will ever become publicly accessible.

At the heart we created a whimsical outdoor plaza lobby environment with a large explorable layout and an organic design central tower based around the shape and colors of their company logo (as seen from a bird’s eye view). The plaza also houses a space for fireside chats, a lake for relaxing chats, and connects the other two main visitable spaces: an intimate club-like meeting/presentation space and a larger theater-like large audience presentation space.

The club space is a small spherical pod lined with plants and flanked by 2 sakura blossom trees, with an organic style open roof that lets in just the right amount of dappled sunlight. It’s the perfect spot for a small gathering to share ideas and watch a presentation together on the main screen.

The theater space is a work of architectural art and employs the same organic open roof design as the club space. This time, however, the area can hold up to 100 people rather than just a small group. There is a separated plant-lined lobby space connected to the central inner theater, itself lined with two lush vertical plant walls.

The Winter Lodge

November 2022

We originally built this world as a special request for the Google Cloud Holiday Party, hosted by Morpheus XR back in AltspaceVR. The world was a big hit, and we since enjoyed hosting many other meetups and presenations there. It’s quite beautiful, there’s northern lights in the sky, shooting stars, howling wind through snowy hills, and you can even go canoing out on the lake just by hopping in! We have moved this space across a few platforms but they keep closing so it is currently unavailable to view sadly. This is one that we are working on resurrecting somewhere soon.

Hologram Rap Cypher

September 2022

We worked with producer Adrian Driscoll and his team at Collimation to create and launch a holographic Hip Hop Cypher in virtual reality. Set in a dark, rat-infested underground NY subway station, each performer was beamed onto our stage as a full-body projection. Original photography by artist Young Guru was featured throughout the space.

⭐ The project was featured in the first episode of the PBS series “Hip-Hop and the Metaverse”

The Foremothers Cafe

May 2022

Here is a world right out of author Helen Lundström Erwin’s Historic Novel: Sour Milk in Sheep’s Wool. We worked with Helen to recreate this café depicted in her novel, which serves as her main characters’ meeting space during the women’s suffrage movement. Now she can host readings of her own book inside of a setting from the book itself. Talk about “meta!”

✅ Accessible on ENGAGE using VR and Desktop.

The Frooog Forrest

May 2022

From the minds behind Cirque du Soleil came a very fun and strange side project that didn’t last long enough to truly get started but was most certainly one of our favorite worlds to build. They called themselves Hanai World and the deep lore they had already built up about their universe was going to provide dozens of world ideas to be built, alas the company disbanned shortly after this project was completed but we at least got to make this one!

We made it feel as if you were a tiny frog in a large forrest, surrounded by lush plants, glowing mushrooms, and magical creatures. There was a large multi colored bonfire to dance around, a moonlit lake to ponder next to, and even a secret rotten log hideaway from from the main action. All the while Guy Laliberté himself was being broadcasted live and volumetrically into the space by Microsoft and their Holoportation technology to deliver a unique DJ set enjoyed by patrons in both the real world and our virtual one. It was all part of the same mixed reality party happening at his place. It was certainly a wild ride!

The Failed To Render Comedy Club

March 2022

Welcome to the longest running comedy club in virtual reality, literally! This show started back in AltspaceVR and has since traveled across the metaverse and back to finally land in VRChat full time. The club itself was designed to keep this show as immersive and grounded as possible. Even though there is a trap door and explosions!

🏆 The show itself was the recipient of the 2023 Raindance Immersive award for Best Immersive Experience.

The Synthwave Cyber Falcon Stage

Feburary 2022

Soaring above the color-shifting laser-lined landscape of the metaverse, this semi-sentient automaton glides ever toward the famed Simulation City. A clever stage and seating area adorn it’s back, comfortably housing an audience to bear witness to the weekly worldcast taking place there known as Simulation Nation. At least it used to when the podcast was running but now it stands as a memorial to the show.

UN ActNow VR: Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Feburary 2022

On February 20th 2022, we debuted our second world in the ActNowVR series: the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (formerly known as Ayers Rock) in Australia, to celebrate the United Nation’s World Day of Social Justice & International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022-2032) in support of the UN International Labour Organization (UN ILO).

⭐ Over the span of 24 hours, people gathered from across the world to appreciate the beauty of Uluru, the culture and art of the Anangu aboriginal people, and the local flora and fauna found in the park.

UN ActNow VR: Al Wasl Dome in Dubai

January 2022

On January 24th 2022, the Act Now Live VR Experience launched its first monthly Global VR event inside one of our very own hand-crafted VR worlds! Working with UNESCO, the Act Now VR series supports the United Nations’ campaign for individual action on climate change and sustainability.

This first world in the series features our digital twin of the World Expo 2020’s iconic Al Wasl Dome in Dubai and our own original designed Lotus Lobby, connected via a short promenade with two relaxing alcoves: the drum circle and the firepit.

The Sky Temple

October 2021

Christi designed, modeled, textured and animated every element in this elevated Zen space from scratch in an effort to show off her own architectural flavor and to offer a paradise in the clouds. This was a lovely place to gather with friends and was often sought out as an event venue. Originally hosted on AltspaceVR however after their sunsetting it moved to Spatial.

BRCvr: Donna Summers Sunrise Party

August 2021

A hallowed tradition among the Burning Man community is the inevitable “Sunrise Party” generally on the Sunday morning following burn night as everyone comes floating back down to earth. For the second year of BRCvr Cause decided to focus on creating more of an “experience” so he designed a little digital psychedelic edible hallucination trip…

BRCvr: The Eco Zone

August 2021

The Burning Man Project has been dedicated to sustainability year round. For 2021, BRCvr hosted “Zones” in which participants could hang out and find portals to additional camps / worlds of that theme. For this Christi created the BRCvr Eco Zone, where participants could find like-minded eco-friendly companions and explore eco-friendly camps together.

The 360 Parcel

May 2021

We were brought in by the Burning Man Project to help create a digital twin of a parcel of 360 acres of land they had purchased that they planned to turn into a community of sustainable housing and workshops. They shared with us the plans for each of the sustainable buildings and structures as well as how the overall community would be laid out across the land. We used this information combined with topological data from geomap sources to accurately lay out their vision and allow them and their investors to virtually walk through the entire land space and see how the vision would appear without having to actually go out there and sweat it out. Pretty slick and convenient really!

Golden Apple VR

March 2021

When Golden Apple Comics wanted to host a WonderCon event in virtual reality, they hired Big Rock Creative to produce it, who in turn hired us to custom build a 3D digital twin of Golden Apple Comics in LA (along with some added VR magic!)

Referencing photos provided by Golden Apple Comics and Google, we modeled out the storefront on Melrose Street, faithfully recreated the inside of Golden Apple Comics, and built an added Anaheim Convention Center inspired promenade for events, accessible via a magic portal through the back of the store.

⭐ The venue was often used for official panels and talks by comic industry legends at DC, Marvel, Heavy Metal, and more.

The Immersive Awards Red Carpet Theater

Feburary 2021

Ben Erwin asked us to revamp our “steampunk in the sky” inspired events dome for the Polys WebXR Awards Live Broadcast event in AltspaceVR. This entailed texture, reflections & lighting updates, the addition of spotlights (which we animated in Blender), added 3D logos + the event”’s iconic trophies, graphics/signage about the awardees, and installation of two mirrored watch-party screens + platforms. We designed the dome and the spokes in a modular way to allow for future alterations of the spokes/tunnels and their platforms.

Baba Yaga’s Forbidden Forrest

January 2021

We worked with 6-time Emmy Award winning animation studio Baobab Studios to build a custom social VR World for the red carpet premiere of Baba Yaga – their newest virtual reality interactive movie.

The virtual red carpet premiere was hosted by Baobab Studios and the Tribeca Film Festival. Guests included press, Baobab Co-Founder / Baba Yaga director and writer Eric Darnell (Madagascar, Antz), Baobab CEO and Co-Founder Maureen Fan, the premiere’s Oscar-winning director Glen Keane (Over the Moon) and Baba Yaga stars: Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Ophelia) and Oscar- and Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), who also served as an executive producer on the film.

“I think this premiere was the coolest, most unique premiere experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to quite a few premieres!” – Jennifer Hudson

⭐ The world was featured in a CBS Mornings interview with Baobab Studios CEO Maureen Fan.

BRCvr: The Burning Saucer

August 2020

In true burner fashion, Cause took his Flying Saucer nightclub, landed it the desert, set it on fire, and found that for some reason it attracted a lot of attention. This smoldering, flaming, glowing, booming visual extravaganza floating just above deep Playa. A great mix always blasting, and best of all FREE entry and FREE drinks!! Or you know, whatever’s in your fridge I suppose…

⭐ This club became one of the official DJ afterparty spots of BRCvr! We held countless dance parties, streaming in so many live DJs slotted for their sets at the virtual burning man experience. It was absolutely wild!

BRCvr: Merry Mad Tea Party

August 2020

Merry Mad Tea Party is a real-world Burning Man camp conceived by artist Marialyce that participates in regional burns throughout the year. When COVID prevented this in 2020, Christi helped the camp find a new home in the BRCvr festival so they could continue participating seamlessly. The Virtual Merry Mad Tea Party offers a warm ambience as burners can chat over a cup of tea and enjoy beautiful art together.

BRCvr: Mikey’s Hug Deli

August 2020

Originally created by artist Mikey Stubbs, the Hug Deli operates as a roving experience best known for being a recurring staple at Man. When COVID hit in 2020, Cause stepped up to help Mikey rebuild his art installation digitally to be imported and enjoyed in the BRCvr festival.

The premise is simple, one person assumes the role of deli operator, one person assumes the role of customer. There is a menu of various types of hugs to be ordered, though custom orders can be fulfilled via the whims of the current deli operator. Payment is made in the form of two compliments paid by the customer to the operator. After the hug is delivered, the customer then assumes the role of deli operator and the next person in line is serviced. This is an absolute conversation starter and a really magical thing to behold in real time.

The Flying Saucer

July 2020

Behold! Our very first fully fledged uber performant and deeply immersive world that has traveled across multiple metaverses as both a benchmark for the process to import worlds as well as how performant it was once it was on there.

The Flying Saucer was built by Cause in the wee days of Altspace and, from what the founders of the platform told us, completely changed the trajectory of how their own developers saw their product. This club may have had an intense butterfly effect, changing a mostly educational social platform into an full on edutainment platform.

⭐ Cause comes from a heavy club tech background so this build was a labor of love first and foremost but also a very good way to throw live DJ parties in XR. Which we did. Quite often! In fact one time we packed the house at 80 avatars with people literally queued up waiting to get in if someone left.

⬆️ After AltspaceVR closed down, the club was reconstructed into the higher poly and better lit Flying Saucer 2.0 then brought into Frame for the “Crash The Launch” party where nearly 400 people attended over the course of the evening. However the best is yet to come with this venue… we have some very big plans so stay tuned!
