BRCvr Eco Zone

BRCvr Eco Zone

The Burning Man Project has been dedicated to sustainability year round. For 2021, BRCvr hosted “Zones” in which participants could hang out and find portals to additional camps / worlds. Christi created the BRCvr Eco Zone, where participants could find like-minded eco-friendly friends and explore eco-friendly camps.

Christi modeled all the features seen here, including the central pergola complete with glowing flowers, inviting seating and a camp fire; the layered Burning World art piece that portrays the weight of the world on our youth, the elaborate Tree house chill space that portals to the Merry Mad Tea Party world, and the beckoning tentacle that portals to the Dinner With A Whale world. As a Zone world, additional assets were added to the world, submitted by participating camps, allowing users to visit their full camps via portals.
Christi animated this little bee to emerge and dutifully awaken each of the glowing flowers found in the world.

Reporter Kimberly Gedeon found the BRCvr Eco Zone and wrote about it in her article about BRCvr:

“Not all portals look like glowy, cylindrical blue gateways. Some of them are elaborate works of art. I once stumbled upon a tree with a humongous, colorful top hat that caught my eye.”

“There was a doorway at the base of the tree, and when I entered it, I was transported into a beautiful Alice-in-Wonderland themed world. There was plenty of gorgeous artwork depicting some of the most iconic moments of the magical tale, including the notoriously tardy White Rabbit and the infamous tea party. The creator of the world even placed a 3D set-up of the Alice in Wonderland Mad Tea Party.”

Christi also created the Merry Mad Tea Party VR world that was accessed by this hole in the tree, for it’s physical world camp members Marialyce (physical world camp lead) and Debi Cable (UV-painter/artist). You can see more about the Merry Mad Tea Party on its page here.
